IndiGo Expands Operations With New Routes and Growth Plans in 2026
IndiGo, India’s largest airline, is continuing its rapid expansion in 2026 with new routes, fleet upgrades, and stronger domestic and international connectivity. The airline has recently announced several developments aimed at improving travel options and passenger convenience across the country and beyond.
As part of its latest expansion plans, IndiGo is set to launch more than 30 new routes from Navi Mumbai International Airport, connecting major cities such as Kolkata, Chandigarh, Srinagar, Patna, and Varanasi. The airline is also preparing to begin commercial operations from Noida International Airport starting June 206, marking another major step in its growth strategy.
IndiGo has also strengthened its international network by introducing new long-haul plans and expanding services to destinations across Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. The airline recently added the Airbus A321XLR aircraft to its fleet, becoming the first Indian airline to operate the aircraft model. This move is expected to support longer international routes and improve passenger comfort.
In addition, the company announced ambitious fleet expansion goals, with plans to add one new aircraft every week during FY26. IndiGo aims to cross a fleet size of 600 aircraft by 2030 while also strengthening its international operations with Boeing Dreamliner and Airbus A350 aircraft in the coming years.
The airline is also focusing on improving regional connectivity within India. New flight services between cities like Puducherry and Bengaluru have already been introduced to provide passengers with more flexible travel options for both business and leisure trips.
